  15. <p>     EXECUTED. TIMOTHY SPENCER, 32, convicted through genetic fingerprinting
  16. of the rape and murder of four women in 1987; by electric chair;
  17. in Jarratt, Virginia. Spencer was the first person executed
  18. in the U.S. for a conviction obtained using DNA testing, although
  19. none of the victims survived to testify and no fingerprints
  20. were discovered, DNA samples from Spencer's blood matched semen
  21. found at the crime scenes.
